Advertising professionals from around the country gathered together March 6-7, 2019 in Washington, DC to learn about the vital issues facing our industry and take to the halls of Congress to educate lawmakers about the vital role advertising plays in the U.S. economy. The event kicked off with a pre-conference dinner reception on March 6th followed by Advocacy & Action Conference, AAF Advertising Day on the Hill on March 7th. The events were organized by AAF and sponsored by sponsored by McDermott Will & Emery. Speakers & Topics included Tax Laws-Jim Davidson, Polsinelli, Self-Regulation Lou Mastria, Digital Advertising Alliance, Privacy Mike Signorelli, Venable, Consumer Protection-Mary Engle, Federal Trade Commission. According to AAF AAF’s unique strength in Washington, DC comes from being a grassroots organization. We represent all aspects of the advertising industry from all parts of the country. That strength will be unleashed as conference attendees head to Capitol Hill to meet with their elected representatives. Senators and Representatives take notice when constituents care enough to come to meet with them in Washington, DC. A strong showing of the AAF grassroots will send a message that further underscores the positions being advocated. The event was great for networking and advocacy professionals.
