Chef Martín Berasategui has joined Ccilu Footwear as a 2017 Brand Ambassador, Chef Martín is a Basque chef and owner of an eponymous restaurant in Lasarte-Oria (Gipuzkoa), Spain, which has been awarded three Michelin stars since 2001. Owner of thirteen restaurants, Chef Martín holds eight Michelin stars in total, more than any other Spanish chef and ranking third in the world for the most stars held.
So we love the Ccilu shoes by the way -- absolutely cool and very comfortable. We gave them to our Chefs during the Wayne Food Show and the Chefs-Restaurant Folks could not stop asking us to get more shoes. So here's our interview
BGTJ: What was your inspiration to work with Ccilu?
Chef: My good friend Paco Martinez introduced the brand to me, and to the opportunity to work together with Ccilu for a few months. I couldn´t say no, I was fascinated by the idea.
BGTJ: What does "Ccilu" mean to you?
Chef: Ccilu appears to me as a company to admire, an example to follow. I feel very proud to be able to collaborate with them.
BGTJ: As a chef, is there something about Ccilu's that appeal to you in your work?
Chef: There are so many things in common between Ccilu and my job. The shared efforts of a team, the logic when it comes to working, the nobility, and they, as well as I, strive to create a unique and easy-to-identify brand.

Chef: "My parents fought hard to get me to dedicate myself toward another occupation, because this life has always required great sacrifice," said Chef Martín, who, at the age of 14, began to work in his parents' restaurant in Donostia-San Sebastián, the capital of Spain's Basque province. "But the lure of the kitchen was in my blood and all I wanted to do was cook." Chef Martín, who has appeared on Master Chef, has restaurants in Barcelona, the Canary Islands, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Costa Rica.
